Introduction A heterogeneous network is a network that connects computers and other devices with different protocols. A wireless network, which provides a service through a wireless Local Area Network (LAN) and is able to maintain the service when switching to a cellular network - is a wireless heterogeneous network. Seamless roaming across heterogeneous wireless access networks is one of the main features in the mobility management architecture of next generation mobile networks. Not one technology or service can provide ubiquitous coverage and continuous high Quality of Service (QoS) levels.
