The role of active learning in ESL classroom is undoubtedly of great importance. Thus, to promote and actively engage students in the learning process is teacher’s main purpose. Our approach to active learning should allow students to have choice and flexibility in class discussion questions and should contribute to their expectations of success by enhancing their sense of control over their learning. Helping students build their confidence to communicate fluently not only in classroom but also in real life situations is important as well. In this regard the main focus is to help students overcome the difficulties they come across during the course study and, finally to be sure that the language they learn is up-to-date, relevant and natural.
