Every nation has its vast collections of proverbs. Proverbs, sayings, adages, fables, aphorisms and such other kind of genres are popular among people and they are considered as examples of folklore. In popular science literature the term “maqol” (proverb) is widely used. In Uzbek language this term was derived from Arabic word “qavola” and it means “to say/to tell”. Among people there are phrases such as “Qovlida sobit” or “Qovlida tuturiqsiz”.
