It is a well-known fact that language is a social phenomenon which arises naturally and inevitably in all human groups. Therefore, the chief aim of linguistic research is to study the sounds, grammars and meanings of the world’s languages, and to reveal how these languages function in different social settings. Many linguists believe that humans are genetically programmed to learn languages, but they need social contact in order to realize their ability and use language.
