Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of ontological category of time by results of a psycholinguistic (associative) experiment which results‟ analysis has shown content features of this category in language consciousness in an aspect of gender and age characteristics. The description of the associative field of the considered category has not only shown the dependence of mechanisms of association with gender and age features of informants, but also has allowed to reveal dependence of its perception by a number of extra linguistic factors.
