We know that the traditonal method of teaching consist of explaining material by a teacher, doing some practical works which are told to do again by a teacher. Let’s speak about teaching English. In the past teachers of Uzbekistan taught English for the purpose of translation. Teachers mainly taught with the grammar translation method,which used translation, grammar study, recitation and dictation to practice English. These methods helped students only to translate texts. And also teachers used authoritarian ways when conducting lessons. There was no any liberality or democracy in lessons. Shortly it was teacher-centered learning Unfortunately most of our teachers are still in that way.
