In the modern world the main goal is to teach a student to speak a foreign language relatively easily and competently. At the same time most knowledge of grammar and vocabulary is not enough: the language must be able to freely, at ease and, most importantly, feel free to communicate, to easily handle difficult situations. And the communicative method of learning a foreign language is aimed at honing those skills.
