Where two different languages have contact over a certain period of time they will certainly influence each other. Words might be taken over from one language and are adopted to the other. This process is called borrowing. Borrowing means also a word or phrase which has been taken from one language and used in another language. When one word is borrowed, it is called a loan word. The two terms are discussed in the same sense, because scholars study them indiscriminatingly. Everybody is in a position to learn some of the words used by their neighbors, and very frequently people will like some of their neighbors’ words and language and may take those words over into their own language [4, p. 198]. These words are termed borrowings, or loanwords. Loanwords covered every aspect of people’s life, including politics, economy, military, culture, art, science, religion, education and so on.

Choice of the unit of analysis in syllabus design is crucial for all aspects of a language teaching program. A variety of units, including word, structure, notion, function, topic, and situation, continue to be employed in synthetic, Tape A, syllabuses. While each is relevant for analyses of the target language and its use, nativelike linguistic elements find little support as meaningful acquisition units from a language learner`s perspective. Task has more recently appeared as the unit of analysis in three analytic, (primarily) Type B, alternatives: procedural, process, and task syllabuses. Each of these has certain limitations, too, but when the task syllabus is combined with a focus on form in task-based language teaching, the task receives more support in second language acquisition research as a viable unit around which to organize language teaching and learning opportunities.

The main advantages of essay and short answer items are that they permit students to demonstrate achievement of such higher level objectives as analyzing and critical thinking. Written items offer students the opportunity to use their own judgment, writing styles, and vocabularies. They are less time consuming to prepare than any other item type. Research indicates that students study more efficiently for essay type examinations than for selection (multiple choice) tests. Students preparing for essay tests focus on broad issues, general concepts, and interrelationships rather than on specific details. This studying results in somewhat better student performance regardless of the type of exam they are given. Essay tests also give the instructor an opportunity to comment on students' progress, the quality of their thinking, the depth of their understanding, and the difficulties they may be having.
